I am Daiga, a natural and documentary-style wedding videographer, and I film weddings at Hazel Gap Barn in Nottinghamshire. Hazel Gap sits on the historic Welbeck Estate near Edwinstowe, and is one of Cripps’s most distinctive venues: a striking red-brick barn with watchtowers, a sheltered courtyard, and a reputation for exceptional food cooked over open flame. Ceremony
The Oak Room is a beautiful place to say your vows. Giant candelabras, rows of candlelit lanterns and an imposing fireplace create a warm, intimate atmosphere that looks as good on film as it feels in person.
Reception
The food at Hazel Gap is exceptional. It is sourced from local farmers and cooked over the open flames of hand-made BBQs and French rotisseries, which also makes for a great thing to film.
Once it gets dark another of Hazel Gap’s features comes to life- the outdoor fire pits in the courtyard. They are perfect for toasting some marshmallows or just keeping warm!
Getting Ready Space
Grange House, the venue’s on-site cottage, offers a perfect getting ready space for the bridal party. Tucked away in the far corner it ensures you have a complete privacy.
Accommodation:
Hazel Gap does not have accommodation on site, but there are plenty of great places near by ranging from charming cottages and air BNBs to more conventional hotels.
Filming weddings at Hazel Gap Barn
I am a recommended videographer at Hazel Gap Barn and I know the venue, its team and how to find the best spots for film. The Oak Room’s deep shadows and candlelit warmth are genuinely beautiful on film, and the courtyard at night, with the fire pits going and the fairy lights overhead, is one of the most naturally cinematic settings I work in.
My films are natural and documentary in style, built around real moments rather than staged set-ups. I film quietly with small cameras, record proper sound from your wedding, and create a film that feels like your day, with a little humour where it fits.
