HI, I AM DAIGA AND HAVE BEEN MAKING WEDDING VIDEOS SINCE 2016. INSTEAD OF BORING YOU WITH GENERIC PHRASES ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE WEDDINGS AND FILMMAKING HERE ARE SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT ME INSTEAD:
I absolutely love being outdoors surrounded by nature. This includes the Peaks, seaside, mountains and forests. The wilder the better!
I am also a total sun addict. I even move my computer around the house to make sure I always work in a sunny spot. If I’ve have to spend all summer editing weddings I may as well do it in a sunny spot.
Filmmaking in it’s truest form is storytelling. Everyone can string together a few words, but very few can write a truly compelling story.
I prefer Marvel movies to chick flicks and I am huge Star Wars fan. The inner child in me also loves Disney fairy tales
My house is run by two adorable Ragdoll kittens – Master Luke & Princess Leia. They definitely live up to their names.
Creating a film is like assembling a jigsaw puzzle. First you have to collect all the pieces and then you spend ages trying to find the right place for each one.
I love food and can get ‘hangry’. This is why I always carry emergency snacks with me when filming weddings.
I have a multinational family and both my husband and I speak more than one language.
Sound is an essential part of a good filM. Sound evokes feeling, connects with the viewer and adDs another layer of complexity to the story. In a wedding film it also brings back memories.
I’ve spent years learning filmmaking and have BSc (Hons) in Psychology. A combo that is perfect for making people cry (if you don’t believe me try watching some of my films).
And lastly I do not take myself too seriously and always try to see the best in everyone. I find people fascinating.
My approach
I like to keep things as natural as possible so I simply record what happens on the day. I don’t stage or set things up all I need from you is to ‘be you’.
I keep my wedding gear fairly minimal. No big rigs, no big crew. Only what I need to shoot as discreetly as possible. This allows me to move around quickly and quietly.
My focus is always on people. I watch out for emotions and interactions. The things that truly matter..
I love to capture the in-between moments. The ‘just before’ and ‘just after’. These are the moments that make every wedding unique and every video personal.
