Creating Your Wedding Film

Pre-wedding Planning

We will usually have a pre-wedding meeting, either via a phone call or face to face meeting.  This is a chance for us to get to know each other and have a chat about your wedding plans.  What time will events happen? Will you be reading your own vows? Will there be traditions or surprises you may want me to capture.  All these questions help me get an idea of the essence of your day and help shape the story of your day.

The Wedding Day

Your wedding film production begins the moment I arrive on with you. Usually I will start with some establishing shots of your venue before joining you for the bridal preparations.  My films are focused on people and the moments they share with each other.

The secret ingredient to a great film is great audio.  This is why I bring special gear to make sure I capture clear audio.  After all, you want to hear each other say your vows clearly right? During the ceremony and speeches I will be using multiple cameras to capture different angles but all the time I will remain as unobtrusive as possible.

At some point during the day, your photographer will take you off for some couples portraits.  Usually I will seek to come along and use the same time period to capture some romantic scenes for your film.  If your photographer does not agree to this then please be aware I will need a small block of time when we can film this important part of the day.

During the evening reception I will be trying to capture the energy and fun of the party.  I will usually stop filming once have enough of the party footage.  Whilst that’s where filming stops, much of the work is only just beginning.

Post Production

This is where the magic happens and where all the planning and filming comes together.  First of all I will make sure all the raw footage is securely backed up and stored in case of any equipment failure.

Making a film is a little bit like composing a symphony. Many elements need to come together in perfect harmony forming a film you will want watch over and over again. The video footage is only one of the ingredients that has to work together with music sound and voices. It's a time-consuming and painstaking process, but it is well worth the effort.

Once the film is complete, I will send you a link for you to watch your film online.  Once you have watched it you can share your amazing film with your family & friends so they can relive the magic of your wedding day too.
