Making Your Wedding Film
Making Your Wedding Film
We will usually have a pre-wedding meeting, either via a phone call or face to face meeting. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and where I aim to find out about your wedding plans. What time will events happen? Will you be reading your own vows? Will there be traditions or surprises you may want me to capture. All these questions help me get an idea of the essence of your day and help shape the story of your day.
The Wedding Day
Your wedding film production begins the moment I arrive on with you. Usually I will start with some establishing shots of your venue before joining you for the all important bridal preparations. I will capture the significant details of your day. The dress, the flowers and of course any jewellery or heirlooms.
The secret ingredient to a great wedding film is great audio. This is why I bring special gear to make sure I capture clear audio. After all, you want to hear each other say your vows clearly right? During the ceremony and speeches I will be using multiple cameras to capture different angles but all the time I will remain as unobtrusive as possible.
At some point during the day, your photographer will take you off for some couples portraits. Usually I will seek to come along and use the same time period to capture some romantic scenes for your film. If your photographer does not agree to this then please be aware I will need a small block of time when we can film this important part of the day.
During the evening reception I will be trying to capture the energy and fun of the party. I will usually stop filming shortly after the first dance. Whilst that’s where filming stops, much of the work is only just beginning.
This is where the magic happens and I will create your story. This is where all the planning and filming comes together. First of all I will make sure all the raw footage is securely backed up and stored in case of any equipment failure.
Next, your film is carefully edited together in a cinematic way. Ensuring that the audio and colours are consistent throughout the film. A custom soundtrack is picked out that fits the mood of your wedding.
Once the film is complete, I will send you a link for you to watch your film online. Once you have watched it then you can share your amazing film with your family & friends so they can relive the magic of your wedding day too.
