I absolutely love including humour in my films and this wedding made it really easy to do so. Matt & Anupa have a wicked sense of humour and that really showed throughout the day. Even their wedding vows made everyone laugh.
Matt & Anupa first met in dental school and took and instantly took a liking to each other. Soon they were dating although Anupa waited for a while before telling her family. Eventually, she mustered up enough courage and told her mum who just looked at her and said: “I know”. And just like that Matt became a part of the family.
Their wedding took place at Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield. Both ceremonies and the wedding breakfast were at the Ringwood Suite but the evening party took place in the marque.
Anupa chose not to have a white bridal gown and stayed in her wedding lehenga all day, whilst Matt donned a navy blue suit. The venue was decorated in red, gold and cream and included plenty of flowers.
Matt and Anupa chose to have a fusion wedding honouring both of their heritages. The day started with Matt’s arrival, accompanied by drummers whilst Anupa was still getting ready. This was followed by Anupa’s family welcoming Matt before he made his way to the mandap for the wedding rituals. Anupa made her entrance a little bit later and left Matt speechless as he saw her full wedding attire for the first time.
After the Hindu ceremony, everyone moved to the gardens for the drinks reception. Meanwhile, the room was set up for the legal ceremony and soon all the guests were invited back in. The legal ceremony featured personal vows written by the bride and groom. The vows were a perfect mix of sweet and cheeky and one of Anupa’s lines certainly came as a surprise to Matt…
The second ceremony was followed by a bubble exit in the gardens. Bubbles provide a nice alternative to the confetti and look absolutely gorgeous in photos and video. After that guests were seated for the wedding breakfast. Later in the evening everyone moved to the marque and partied until late in the night.
